“With art, as well as being mood lifting, there is a benefit of being able to produce something tangible and the variety of art materials and techniques used helps to maintain interest." Beryn Peterson. Art for Parkinson's artist

Did you know that creating art can help to reduce Parkinson's symptoms?

Research suggests that exercise, social connectedness and creativity are therapeutic for Parkinson's symptoms.

Art for Parkinson's workshops tick all of those boxes.  They are designed specifically for people whose abilities have been compromised by Parkinson's.

No special artistic skills or talent are required.  These sessions are social, fun and beneficial for your health and wellbeing in many ways.

Each session starts with a cuppa and a chat, followed by gentle stretching before the actual creativity begins.  It's a great way to relax and have fun with other people with Parkinson's.

How to find an Art for Parkinson's workshop

Thanks to the Clubs NSW ClubGRANTS programme, Parkinson's NSW is able to offer half day workshops as well as regular, fortnightly classes.
